3D Custom metal shop sign letter

Option 1 - Industrial Custom Metal Letters

The Industrial Custom Metal Letters are a unique style of shop sign lettering used by signmakers to create an industrial-themed form of shop signage. Typically made from a commercial quality mild steel, the custom metal letters are bespoke and made to order in your chosen font and size.

The depth / thickness of these letters range from 20mm to 100mm.
Available with either a clear lacquer or unlacquered finish.

During production, a flat sheet of mild steel is laser-cut to the shape and size of the chosen font and then a strip of steel is welded onto the side of the letters to create the desired depth needed. The depth/thickness of the letters often ranges from around 20mm to 100mm, although the thickness of the letters will usually be determined by the font type and size of the letters. If you require an specific thickness then please speak to a member of our sales team.

The Industrial Custom Metal Letters can be fitted to a shop signboard, office wall or on a building's facade in a number of fixing methods such as flush wall mounted or raised wall mounted, depending on how far you'd like the letters to protrude.

Please note: the aged mild steel letters will age over time, depending on where the letters are being installed. If you install the letters outdoors then the letters will start to show signs of rust and can cause rust marks on the wall. If used indoors then the mild steel will darken and tarnish over time.

Option 2 - Flat Cut Custom Metal Letters

The Flat Cut Custom Metal Letters are a cheaper alternative to the 3D Metal Letters, and a very popular choice of signage used to create an industrial-themed style of sign lettering. Manufactured from mild steel, the flat cut mild steel letters are produced in your chosen font typeface and size.

The depth / thickness of these letters range from 2mm, 3mm and 5mm.
Available with either a lacquered or unlacquered finish.

During production, a flat sheet of mild steel is laser-cut to the shape and size of your chosen font or logo design. The thickness of the steel  letters will depend on the thickness of the sheet metal used to produce the signage. The majority of letters are produced in 2mm thick steel, however we can produce them in 3mm or 5mm thick steel if preferred.

The Flat Cut Custom Metal Letters can be fitted to a shop signboard, office wall or on a building's facade in a number of fixing methods such as flush wall mounted or raised wall mounted, depending on how far you'd like the letters to protrude.

Halo illuminated office logo

Illuminating your Sign Letters

LED illumination is only available for the 3D Built-Up Letters and not the Flat Cut Letters. This feature will also be dependent on the size and complexity of your chosen font.

Suitable for both internal and external use, the LED illuminated letters, (also known as 'back- illuminated letters') are a popular choice for sign-makers as the LED lights help enhance the logo's visibility and adds touch of class to your branding. The LED lights are fitted within the cavity of the letters and manufactured so that the light projects out the back of the letters which creates a 'halo glow' around each letter.

A range of different coloured LED modules can be used to illuminate the letters however the neutral white LEDs are most commonly used. If you're not sure on which colour you'd like the logo to be illuminated in, then we may be able to install a colour-changeable LED lighting system which allow you to use a handheld controller to change the colour of the back-lighting to the colour you desire.

Installing your shop sign letters

Both the 3D Built-Up Letters and the Flat Cut Letters are supplied with raised wall fixings which consist of a two-part nut and bolt fixing as shown in this diagram. The male-part of the fixing is welded onto the back of the letter. The female-part of the fixing is fitted onto the wall. The two parts of the fixing then connect together and are tightened up with a spanner to ensure the letter is secured into position. The wall screws and wall plugs are not supplied with the signage, so you'll need to source these as they'll depend on the type of wall you're mounting the signage to.

A fixing template is usually supplied with the signage which is used to position the logo or text onto your wall. The template will outline where your screw fixings need to be placed on your wall.

Alternative fixing methods are available upon request, such as double-sided adhesive tape which will allow you to mount your signage flush to the wall without the need to drill into the wall. Please speak to a member of our team today to discuss the best fixing method for your signage project.
