What is Halo Lit Signage?

Halo lit signage, sometimes referred to as backlit or reverse-lit lettering, is a premium signage solution designed to offer a sophisticated and eye-catching glow around individual letters or logos. Instead of illuminating the front of the letters, LED modules are installed behind the characters, which are spaced slightly away from the mounting surface (usually a wall or panel). The result is a soft, diffused glow that forms a “halo” of light around each letter, creating a striking 3D affect that enhances visibility without being overpowering.

This type of signage is particularly effective at night or in dimly lit environments, as it provides contrast and depth while maintaining a sleek and professional appearance. Externally illuminated signage is widely used by high-end retail stores, restaurants, offices, and boutique brands looking to convey elegance, innovation, and reliability through their visual branding. Common materials used include stainless steel or aluminium for the letter bodies, paired with energy-efficient, long-lasting LED lighting systems.
