How do I clean my sign?

Keeping your sign clean is simple and helps maintain its visibility, colour vibrancy, and overall impact.

To clean your sign, we recommend the following steps depending on the material:

  1. Dust and Dirt Removal:
Start by gently brushing away loose dust and debris with a soft cloth or microfiber duster. This prevents scratches when washing.
  2. Mild Cleaning Solution:
Use a mild detergent or diluted soap mixed with warm water. Avoid harsh chemicals, as these can damage protective coatings, fade colours, or cause corrosion—especially with metal or acrylic signs.
  3. Soft Sponge or Cloth:
Gently wipe the sign using a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Avoid scouring pads or anything abrasive that could scratch the surface.
  4. Rinse and Dry:
After washing, rinse the sign thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue. Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent streaks or water spots.
  5. Special Considerations for Illuminated or Electrical Signs:
If your sign includes lighting, do not spray water directly onto electrical components. In these cases, use a damp cloth around fixtures and ensure the power is turned off before cleaning.
  6. Frequency:
For shopfront signage, a monthly clean is usually sufficient to keep it looking fresh. In high-traffic or pollution-heavy areas, more frequent cleaning may be beneficial.

Regular cleaning not only preserves your brand’s visual appeal but also extends the life of your signage investment.
