3D Fairground Light Bulb Sign Letters

Made typically from a commercial grade steel or aluminium our 3D fairground metal letters and logos are bespoke and made-to-order in a range of sizes, shapes and styles to suit your branding requirements and needs.

The shape of the letters are laser cut to the outline of the font or design needed before being welded together to create the depth of the letter. The depth of the letters typically range from:

• 50mm
• 100mm
• 150mm
• 200mm

The depth of the letters usually depend on the height in which the letters are produced at to ensure they’re proportionate. The font used for this style of signage usually needs to be quite bold in order for there to be enough space within the letters for the LED bulbs to be mounted. The letters are designed so that the front of the letters are recessed so that the Cabochon LED bulbs sit within the walls of the 3D letters in order to distribute the light evenly.

Materials Used:

A range of different metals can be used to create the cabochon sign letters however more often than not they’re typically produced in either a stainless steel or aluminium which is used to create the structure and casing of the letters. The type of metal used produces a number of different effects and finishes which include:

• Brushed Silver Stainless Steel
• Polished Chrome Stainless Steel
• Dull-Finish Aluminium
• Rusted Mild Steel – Corroded Finish
• Painted / Powder-coated Finish in a range of colours.

Paint Colours Available: 

The 3D metal letters can be painted in a variety of Pantone colours and RAL colours to suit your branding requirements. The gloss level used for the paint is usually a semi-gloss paint finish however alternative paints can be used to create a matte or gloss finish if required. Once a specific colour has been chosen, the letters are sanded down, primed and then either powder-coated in the RAL colour of choice, or wet-sprayed painted if a pantone colour is required.

LED Cabochon Fairground Bulb Colours:

The fairground bulbs used are a commercial grade method of LED lighting which are commonly used through the retail industry as well as Fairgrounds themselves! The LED bulbs have a diameter of approx. 60mm which allows for them to display a good amount of light within the letters to ensure the sign letters are visual to read at night. Produced with LED modules, the fairground bulbs vary in colour temperature, however more often than not either a warm white or cold white LED module is used for each Cabochon light bulb.

The outer casing which houses the LED module acts as a colour filter and transforms the light into an array of colours ranging from:

• Florescent Yellow
• Ruby Red
• Golden Orange 
• Royal Blue
• Emerald Green
• Purple
• Hot Pink

There are also a number of other coloured and uncoloured transparent lens filters which can be used to create the letters and many letters are produced also by mixing colours to create the desired effect.
